Womens Day: Gujarat’s Minister of State for Home, Harsh Sanghvi, announced that the Gujarat Police is taking an innovative step by having only female police personnel handle the security for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s program today. For the first time in India’s history, all security for the Prime Minister’s event will be managed by women police officers, including the security at the helipad in Vansari Borsi village, where PM Modi will arrive, as well as the security at the event venue.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in Gujarat for a visit. On March 8, in honor of International Women’s Day, he will attend an event in Navsari. For the first time in the country, the entire security for this event will be handled by female police officers. Gujarat’s Minister of State for Home, Harsh Sanghvi, mentioned that this is a unique initiative by the Gujarat Police.
He explained that from the arrival of the PM at the helipad in Vansari Borsi village to the security at the event site, female police personnel will manage all aspects of the security. A total of over 2,100 constables, 187 sub-inspectors, 61 police inspectors, 16 deputy superintendents of police, five superintendents of police, one inspector general of police, and one additional DGP-ranked officer, all women, will be on duty.
Prime Minister Modi will address the “Lakhpati Didi Conference” in Vansari Borsi village.
On International Women’s Day, PM Modi will address more than 1.1 lakh women at the Lakhpati Didi event in Navsari. He will also distribute over 450 crore rupees in financial aid to more than 2.5 lakh women from over 25,000 self-help groups across the state. On his two-day visit to Gujarat, PM Modi will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for projects worth 2,587 crore rupees.
