After Lalu, Rabri Devi’s Offer to JDU, Says “Leave BJP and We Will Join You”

The leader of opposition in the Bihar Legislative Council, Rabri Devi, expressed her anger at the ruling party and made an offer to JD(U). Rabri said, “If you leave BJP, we will join you.” She also mentioned that without committing any crime, Lalu Yadav was convicted, and that they were not afraid and would not leave Bihar.

Political rhetoric regarding the Bihar elections continues. Earlier, RJD supremo Lalu Yadav had said the door was open for Nitish Kumar, and now Rabri Devi, the leader of opposition in the Bihar Legislative Council and former Chief Minister, has also made an offer to JD(U). During a discussion on the Governor’s speech, Rabri Devi attacked the ruling party (JD(U)) saying, “Leave BJP, and we will join you.”

On the issue of reservation, Rabri said, “If you look at the file, JD(U) had opposed reservation in Panchayati Raj and said, ‘Let the elections happen first, then we will implement reservation.’ Now, the thief is blaming the police. Only RJD is being blamed.” Rabri also told JD(U)’s MLC Neeraj Kumar, “You cannot eat sweets from both sides.”

In response to JD(U)’s reference to the ‘Jungle Raj’, the former Chief Minister asked Neeraj Kumar, “When did the Bhagalpur riots happen, and during whose time?” Neeraj Kumar replied, “In 1989, during the Congress government.” To this, Rabri responded, “Then why do you keep mentioning ‘Jungle Raj’ all the time? Was there no Jungle Raj after independence? Why do you keep blaming Lalu Prasad Yadav?”

Rabri added, “We have never committed any crime. Neither ED nor CBI has caught us in any wrongdoing. Lalu Yadav was convicted without any crime. In the last two days, the entire family has received notices. We are not running away. Bihar is ours, and we will stay here. Family relationships are one thing, politics is another.”

The former Chief Minister also mentioned, “You know how much money Bihar received during Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s time. We built roads and schools in the state. We worked to educate poor children, bathe them, and cut their hair. Now, Nitish’s government is working to demolish small shopkeepers. The government is being run in the name of the poor, but on the other hand, all this is happening. Teachers’ salaries and pensions have been stopped in Bihar’s colleges. The BPSC paper was leaked, but the government hasn’t conducted an investigation into it. Many students are still protesting at Gardanibagh, and the government is not finding any solution to this issue.”
