Delhi Election Results 2025: Tight Security Arrangements in Place During Counting of Votes for 70 Seats

Delhi Election Results 2025: The results of the Delhi Assembly elections are set to be announced today. The counting of votes for all 70 seats in Delhi will begin at 8 AM, and initial trends will start coming in within a few hours. On Wednesday, February 5, 60.54% voter turnout was recorded in Delhi.

The results of the Delhi Assembly elections are set to be announced today. The counting of votes for all 70 seats will begin at 8 AM, and initial trends are expected within a few hours. According to the Election Commission of India (ECI), 60.54% voting was recorded on Wednesday, February 5, for the Delhi elections.

For the counting of votes, 19 counting centers have been set up across the 11 districts of Delhi. A three-tier security arrangement has been put in place, which includes two companies of paramilitary forces and Delhi police personnel. Delhi’s Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Alice Vaz has stated that a total of 5,000 personnel will be deployed for the counting process on Saturday, including counting supervisors, counting assistants, and trained support staff for the process.

After the counting, it will be determined whether the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will return to power for a fourth term or if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will form a government in Delhi after 27 years. After failing to win a single seat in the last two assembly elections, Congress is hoping for some improvement this time. Several exit polls have shown the BJP having an edge over AAP, which has been in power in Delhi since 2015. Notably, voting for the 70 Delhi Assembly seats took place on February 5.

Excited by the results of exit polls for the Delhi Assembly elections, the Delhi BJP has made special arrangements at the party office for workers on the day of counting. Party officials said that senior leaders will be available at the party office from 8 AM on Saturday, when the counting starts, to speak with the media. A media room has been set up at the Delhi BJP office, where seating arrangements for journalists have been made. Several LED TVs have been installed there, which will display live trends and results.

During the Delhi Assembly elections, voting took place on Wednesday, February 5, at 13,766 polling stations across all 70 constituencies in Delhi, with strict security arrangements in place.

Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva has claimed that the party will win around 50 seats. Meanwhile, AAP has rejected the exit poll predictions, asserting that it will form the government again and its convenor Arvind Kejriwal will become the Chief Minister for the fourth time.

Regarding security arrangements for the counting day, Delhi Police Special Commissioner Devesh Chandra Srivastava stated on Friday that strict security measures have been put in place for the counting day. Only authorized personnel will be allowed inside the counting centers, and the use of mobile phones will be strictly prohibited.
