Delhi Election 2025: In this Delhi election, half of the population expressed greater trust in BJP

Delhi Election 2025: In the Delhi Assembly elections of 2025, BJP emerged victorious in 29 out of the 40 seats with the highest female voter turnout, while Aam Aadmi Party won just 11 of these seats.

Out of the 40 Assembly seats in Delhi, where more women than men participated in voting, BJP won 72.5% of these seats. Among the 40 seats with the highest female voter turnout, BJP secured 29, while AAP won just 11 seats. In the 70 total Assembly seats in Delhi, women played an equal role in voter turnout, but when we look at the individual seat data, women’s voter percentage was higher than men’s in 57% of the seats. In the 2020 elections, too, more than 30 seats had a higher female voter turnout compared to men. This led all three major parties to announce several beneficial schemes for women this time.

Though the number of women voting increased, the number of female legislators decreased. In the 2020 elections, 8 female legislators were elected, but this time only 5 women succeeded in winning. BJP fielded 8 women candidates, while AAP and Congress each gave tickets to 9 women. From BJP, Rekha Gupta, Shikha Rai, Poonam Sharma, and Neelam Pahalwan won, while from AAP, only Atishi secured a victory.

Now, it is the BJP’s responsibility to fulfill the promises. The women voters of Delhi trusted the election promises and not only voted for BJP but also helped them reach power. Now, it is the BJP’s task to deliver on these promises. BJP has started schemes like free water, free electricity, free bus travel, providing ₹2,500 per month, and affordable gas cylinders, which can make it easier for women to run their households. Additionally, new schemes might be introduced in March during the festival of Holi.

Women also led in voting in rural, VIP, and reserved category seats in Delhi. In the Badli Assembly seat of Delhi, 62.30% men and 63.92% women cast their votes. In Bawana, 60.29%, in Mundka 60.96%, in Matiala 61.39%, and in Bijwasan 61.58% women voted. Women were also ahead in voting in the Palam, Mehrauli, Chhattarpur, Narela, and Nangloi Jat seats.
