BJP President Election: Who Will Become Bhartiya Janata Party’s National President? Before This, a Lot of Effort is Required to Choose State Presidents.
The state presidents of Telangana and Gujarat are also ministers in the central government. There are no elections in these states at the moment, so changes need to be made considering future challenges and possibilities.
During the BJP organization elections, the process of choosing state presidents has caused a lot of sweat in nearly half a dozen states due to vocal opposition from some leaders and social and political equations. According to the party’s constitution, the national president’s election can only take place after elections are held in fifty percent, or half of the states. The BJP has 38 states in its organization, and only around 10 states have completed their elections so far.
In the organizational elections, BJP is facing strong opposition in Karnataka regarding the current state president, Vijayendra, and his retention. Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and West Bengal will have assembly elections in a year. Therefore, there is indecision about whether to make changes, and if changes are made, who should be given the leadership.
Search for a new leader in Uttar Pradesh:
After the Lok Sabha election results in Uttar Pradesh, the state president, Bhupendra Chaudhary, offered to resign. Since organizational elections were to take place, no changes were made at that time. Sources indicate that a decision on the new president will be made after Holi. The new president will be chosen according to social and regional equations.
Consideration of Dalit and Adivasi faces in Madhya Pradesh:
In Madhya Pradesh, the current president, VD Sharma, has completed five years in office. There has been consideration of Dalit and Adivasi leaders, along with Rajput and Brahmin leaders. The BJP leadership will decide based on social equations from other states’ presidents.
Significance of Social Equations in Telangana and Gujarat:
In Telangana and Gujarat, the state presidents are also ministers in the central government. Since elections are not due in these states yet, changes need to be made, keeping in mind future challenges and opportunities. Social equations are quite significant in both these states. However, some leaders within the party are trying to push for a more flexible stance on the “one person, one post” rule, suggesting that certain states should be exempt from this. However, the central leadership does not seem to be in favor of this.
