Professor Exploits Female Students: In Hathras, Dr. Rajneesh, head of the Geography Department at PC Bagla Degree College, has been accused of recording explicit videos of female students. Around 59 such videos have been found, which the professor allegedly recorded using his own mobile phone. Police investigations have revealed that some of these videos were uploaded to explicit websites.
A committee formed by the DM has started investigating the sexual exploitation case involving the students. On Monday, the committee issued a notice to the professor. Meanwhile, the police also visited Bagla Degree College to gather evidence and interrogated the college principal and staff.
A case has been registered at Hathras Gate Police Station against Dr. Rajneesh for sexual exploitation of students. One of the students from a local area has also filed a complaint with the DM, prompting the formation of a four-member investigation committee. The committee comprises SDM Neeraj Sharma (Chairman), CO Yogendra Krishna Narayan, Tehsildar Chandraprakash Singh, and BSA Swati Bharti as members. The DM has directed the committee to complete the investigation within seven days.
On Monday, the police arrived at the college, interrogated the principal, staff, and teachers, and also inspected the room where the videos were filmed, creating a map and shutting down the room thereafter.
59 Videos and Photos Being Cross-Checked with College Database:
The police are cross-referencing the faces seen in the 59 explicit videos and photos with the college database to identify the students and contact them. Many of the victims are hesitant to come forward due to social stigma. The videos and photos show different students, some of whom are in college uniforms.
Accused Professor Absconding:
The case has become a topic of discussion both in the city and rural areas. On Monday, when the college opened, everyone was talking about the incident. The police visited the professor’s house but found him missing, and he did not attend college either.
Professor’s Own Recordings of the Videos:
The explicit videos of female students from PC Bagla Degree College were recorded by Dr. Rajneesh himself using his mobile phone. Police investigations revealed that some of these videos were uploaded to explicit websites. The police are actively searching for the accused professor, who has been suspended by the college administration.
Around a month ago, an anonymous complaint letter was sent to various officials, including the Central Women’s Commission and police, accusing Dr. Rajneesh, the head of the Geography Department and Chief Proctor at the college, of sexual exploitation. The CO City had conducted an initial investigation and had gathered information by questioning several individuals. The complaint included about twelve photos, some of which showed the professor engaging in inappropriate behavior with students inside the college office. Despite police attempts, the college administration did not cooperate in helping identify the students in the photos.
Police Action and Investigation:
SP Chiranjeev Nath Sinha instructed an investigation by ASP Ashok Kumar Singh, who confirmed some of the allegations. Based on this, a formal case was registered against Dr. Rajneesh by the Hathras Gate Police under charges including rape. The police are continuing their search for the accused professor.
Victims Reluctant to Come Forward Due to Shame:
The case of the professor’s sexual exploitation of students has gained widespread attention. The police are trying to contact the victims for statements, but many students are unwilling to come forward due to fear of social stigma.
Videos Going Viral from the Professor’s Mobile:
Dr. Rajneesh had used the promise of increasing students’ exam marks and helping them get government jobs to manipulate them into filming explicit videos. Approximately 59 videos from his mobile have gone viral.
