Delhi Election Voting: Voting in Delhi Today, 1.56 Crore Voters to Decide the Fate of 699 Candidates

Delhi Election Voting: Voting for 70 assembly seats in Delhi is taking place today. A total of 1.56 crore voters will decide the fate of 699 candidates. Voting will be held at 13,766 polling stations from 7 AM to 6 PM. According to officials, anyone who is in line by the designated time of 6 PM will still be allowed to vote, with extra time granted for this purpose.

Among the 70 assembly seats in Delhi, there are some where the number of voters is particularly high, and these could significantly impact the election results. The highest number of voters is in the Vikaspuri seat, with 4.64 lakh voters. Here, AAP’s Mahender Yadav, BJP’s Dr. Pankaj Kumar Singh, and Congress’s Jitender Solanki are contesting.

The Matiala seat has 4.54 lakh voters. AAP’s Sumesha Shaukeen, BJP’s Sandeep Sahrawat, and Congress’s Raghvinder Shaukeen are in the race. The Burari seat has 4.26 lakh voters, with AAP’s Sanjeev Jha, JD(U)’s Shailendra Kumar, and Congress’s Mangesh Tyagi competing. The Okhla seat has 3.80 lakh voters, where AAP’s Amanatullah Khan, BJP’s Manish Chaudhary, and Congress’s Ariba Khan are fighting for the seat.

The Bawana seat has 3.84 lakh voters, with AAP’s Jai Bhagwan, BJP’s Ravinder Kumar (Indraj), and Congress’s Surender Kumar as the contenders. Delhi Cantonment has the fewest voters, with just 79,667. AAP’s Virender Singh Kadian, BJP’s Bhuvan Karan Singh Tanwar, and Congress’s Pradeep Kumar Upmanyu are in the race here.

The New Delhi seat has 1.08 lakh voters, where AAP’s Arvind Kejriwal, BJP’s Pravesh Verma, and Congress’s Sandeep Dikshit are competing. Chandni Chowk has 1.26 lakh voters, with AAP’s Pundir Deep Singh Sahni, BJP’s Satish Jain, and Congress’s Mudit Agarwal running for the seat. Matia Mahal has 1.29 lakh voters, with AAP’s Aale Mohammad Iqbal, BJP’s Deepti Indora, and Congress’s Aasim Ahmed Khan contesting.

Jangpura has 1.48 lakh voters, with AAP’s Manish Sisodia, BJP’s Tarvinder Singh Marwah, and Congress’s Farhad Suri as the candidates. On seats with a higher number of voters, the margin between victory and defeat could be significant due to the larger total votes. On seats with fewer voters, a smaller margin could decide the winner. Voter turnout and voter engagement will play a crucial role in this election.
